Euroconference Photovoltaic Devices:
Photovoltaics and Environment

This conference will focus on a life cycle assessment of PV systems covering all the aspects of raw material extraction and refinement, cell, module and PV-system production, installation, utilisation and finally recycling of the components and will involve all relevant PV-cell technologies. Furthermore, various applications for PV will be examined with respect to their ecological impact. The respective use of energy, raw materials, the release of toxic or environmental sensitive materials and the waste resulting from production, usage and recycling will be discussed. R&D areas of common interest can be identified and the input from related research areas will widen the view towards the actual problems as well as open up a larger variety of solutions.
